Introductory Flight Training for Powered Parachutes
Introductory flight information
"Intro Flights": --- The price for an Introductory Flight is $60.00 for (30) minutes (prices may vary). An extended flight can be arranged for an additional cost. We usually fly at an altitude of between 700 - 1,200 feet, at an average speeds of 28-35 mph.
All flights are piloted by a BFI (Basic Flight Instructor) certified by ASC (Aero Sport Connection), an FAA approved organization that regulates and approves BFI instructors according to all required FAR's (Federal Aviation Regulations) for Ultralight aircraft and pilots.
Powered parachutes are one of the safest forms of recreational flying available today. Because of the nature of this vehicle, it is virtually impossible to stall, roll or dive. That being said, this sport does have its risks. Therefore, all persons taking part in an introductory flight must sign a "Liability Release and Waiver Form" accepting all risks associated with this flight.
If you have any medical conditions (eg. heart conditions, seizures, ect.) you need to inform the pilot of the issue. It is not recommended that you should participate in this activity if you do have a condition that can cause problems in flight.
A short briefing will take place to explain the basics of what to expect during a routine flight, take off, landing, etc. Any questions or reservations you may have can be answered at this time. (Please don't hesitate to ask questions.)
All flights are scheduled depending on the weather. For a more enjoyable flight, winds between (0-10 mph) are most favorable. This condition is more often found in the early morning or evening hours.
Please be aware of any loose clothing, jewelry or other items in your pockets, etc. that may get caught or fall into the mechanical operations of the aircraft. (Not a good situation). No carrier-on items are allowed except a camera with a neck strap.

For those who have a PPC and are interested in Ground School and Solo Flight Training for powered parachutes, we offer a 10 to 15 hour training course at $65/hr. Complete preliminary ground instructions in preparation for your solo flight. Discussions on "Controlled air space", "FAA regulations", private air strips, being a good neighbor, the mechanics of flying powered parachutes ( PPC's), basic flight concepts, plus preflight checkout of the aircraft, proper handling techniques, actual solo flight while in radio contact with the instructor, and post flight maintenance.
Weather conditions dictate available flight time. Generally we do not train students in winds over 4 mph. Experienced pilots do not fly in winds over 12 mph and not at all if more than light to moderate gusting conditions exist.
