Hi there Teri and RB,

It's been a few months since I last sent you an e-mail and I know you were claiming to be having some problems with your Internet. This mail is being routed through an e-mail confirmation service so that I will know when it arrives in your mailbox and when you click on it to either erase it or read it. I will also send you a hard copy by snail mail. I hope it doesn't get lost in a hurricane.

As I'm sure you remember, back in 1998 I purchased a Parascender II from you with a wire transfer for over $15,000. The wire transfer being he only way that you do business. I also spent a considerable amount of time at Kissimmee so that I could attend your "dealer training" classes as I was going to be your exclusive dealer in the Rochester/Syracuse corridor of New York State (map area of approximately 100 by 150 miles). Of course all of this was at my expense. Then there was the expense of establishing my corporation. Unfortunately, when I return to home to start being your "exclusive dealer" I find that you are sending all inquiries to a gentleman by the name of Bob Becktill, who is located only 10 miles from me. Is that what you consider a protected territory? Not according to the map you made for me concerning my territory. To make matters even worst, you sent be two boxes of shrink-wrapped parts but no engine, propeller, or any other accessories that were supposed to be included. However you did manage to send me over 60 pages of e-mail excuses over a four-year period. Oh well, that all water over the dam now, because I realize that you probably will never send me the engine, prop, and other accessories that are still outstanding on that order. Even after Bill Bassett (bassetb@doacs.state.fl.us) of the attorney general's office in Ocala negotiated a deal with you for a second airframe in lieu of the outstanding merchandise, you still reneged on that agreement. Several months ago I spoke with Mr. Basset, to inform him that you had not fulfilled your commitment to send me the second airframe and at his suggestion, I sent to your e-mail address notification that I no longer desired the airframe but instead wanted you to fulfill your original obligation and fulfill my original order or send me a refund. I know, "you're still working on finding some investors" or "the deal should be closed anytime now".

At the suggestion of the attorney general's office in Ocala, my next step in encouraging you to refund my money or fulfill my order will be to report this incident to the Internet Fraud Commission. You offered me a business opportunity which you have not consummated on your part. You have not sent me, my prepaid order in over five years of time. You are still stealing money from people and lying to them (i.e. Bob Cloninger "bcloninger@aol.com", Bud and Cyndi "pdxpc@aol.com") by taking their money in advance, not providing the service you promised, refusing any refund, and then refusing to have any contact with them (i.e. "I'm having trouble with my e-mail's"). When thing got too hot in Yakima, Washington back in the 80's, you simply filed for bankruptcy, stiffed some nice people like Bud and Cyndi (pdxpc@aol.com) and moved to Florida to continue you reign of fraud from there. It's about time that you stopped using the Internet to defraud people throughout the US You have no factory, you have no aviation mechanic, you have no manufacturing facility, you have no showroom, you have no "flight instructor" rating with any FAA affiliated organization, you have no licensed flight instructor on your staff, you have no staff, you have no dealership organization, you are not recognized by the "unmanned, remote control" organizations that you claim to be doing all you business with (they say you must have picked up one of their cards at a trade show), you have a working e-mail address when you want it to work (i.e. "Lindamiller19@hotmail.com" or "eugeneprinceton656@hotmail.com"), you use deceptive camera angles for photos of your Parascender II to make it look as substantial as the real PPC's on the market, you constantly change your phone number (859-1972, then 397-1679, now 421-3851, what's next?), (as of 9-23-03 try home 407-859-3342 and cell 407-421-3851) and on and on.

Please send either the check or the completion of my order as you previously acknowledged to the attorney general's office. I no longer desire the second airframe, as it has little or no value in today's market.

Thank you.
Bill Leibenguth

After 10 years of fighting to get my equipment or money back from Parascender, I guess I started to believe sometimes the bad guys do win. Excellent job laying out what kind of business Parascender really is running. Thanks for getting a few punches in for us.

You've got to love this next one. Just like back in Yakima, Washington. When the pressure gets too much, he just says he's out of business and moves on. Where will he surface next and what will his scheme be?

Mr. Princeton
We are no longer operating. We represent a few owners who wish to sell their craft. We are considering selling the design rights to interested parties to keep the brand alive.

On 9-15-2003 Terri and R.B. had a conversation with Mark Bayer (585-787-1048) and indicated to him that Parascender Technologies Inc. was bankrupt and that all of the debts had been satisfied by court action. Unfortunately, if you search the court records in Orlando Fla. you will not find any such court record. If anyone has supporting information, either pro or con, please let me know. I want to be as accurate as possible.

3-8-2004 Here is one of my latest e-mails concerning Parascender:

A few years ago when the powered parachuting was new, I traveled to Florida to purchase a Parasender. I was to buy a good used one. I was told that I couldn't buy it with out paying a $300.00 Dealer's fee. Not knowing any better I paid the extra $300.00 and realized later I got screwed. I sent some money ahead and then decided to not buy it at one time and they said they had spent the money. I would never buy another PARASENDER and would not recommend anyone else buy one either.
Bob Coy

In 1996 I became interested in powered parachutes and found an advertisement form Parasender Technologies located in Florida. I called and asked about their products. They sent a video and other brochures. Then they called and told me they had a used single seater in good shape that could be purchased for a lot less than a new one. I was then told that I had to send them some money to hold it. Being hyped up about flying I sent $6500.00 to them. Not long after that my wife needed to have surgery and I asked for my money to be returned. I was told that the money was gone. A month or two went by with the same excuse every time I called, so I decided to go down and get the plane after all.
I arrived one day sooner than expected and found the plane being wired up and not ready. The top piece of tubing had a big dent in it and the wiring wasn't soldered only twisted together. I was told that a big discount would be awarded for those things. The next day I returned to the shop and it still wasn't ready. Finally in the eve it was finished.
The next day I was told that there was no way they could sell me the aircraft without me paying them a $300.00 dealer's fee and $200.00 for ground school. I should have just driven home then but I didn't.
It ended up costing me $9000.00 for a beat up used machine after getting a new chute for it costing $3500.00 it self.
Later I found out that this particular machine had been used for testing water skis and many other things and it had been pieced together in the shop.
I had to completely rewire it and add some instruments when I got it home.
Form my personal experience I will never buy anything from Parasender, nor would I advise anyone else to either.
Bob Coy

Here is a note that was just received concerning the actions of Mr and Mrs Brady: (9-15-2004)

Bill,
My husband and I live in Pueblo, Colorado and ordered a Parascender from
RB about 5 or 6 years ago. We paid in full after traveling to Kissimmee to
check out the machine and get some lessons. We got everything for the
Parascender except the parachute. We had to pay an additional $2000.00 for a
parachute and even then RB tried to rip us off for another thousand. We also
did not receive the in-flight radios that we paid for. In all, we were
ripped off for about $3000.00. It still galls us to think about it.

DEFUNCT Parascender was a powered parachute manufacturer known to have defrauded dozens of people of hundreds of thousands of dollars for products that were paid for, but never delivered. The company was also run by a convicted felon (drug related offenses--also reported, years ago, as a suspect in an unsolved WA state homicide) who actually assaulted Campbell at a time when his leg was in a temporary cast and unable to affect much of a defense. Sun 'n Fun sees this as an excuse to ban him.
